As members of the sports community, we sign this petition to ask legislators, sport leaders and sports governing bodies to adopt transgender eligibility guidelines that are evidence-based and that prioritize safety and fairness in the girls’ and women’s sports categories. On the 50th anniversary year of Title IX, transgender inclusion must not undermine competitive equality for biological women. It is impossible to provide equal opportunities to both sexes without single-sex sports teams. Allowing males to take athletic opportunities from girls and women is sex discrimination against female athletes. We sign to ask for leadership; to recognize science, facts, and that trans-identified-males are still males, and that they should not be allowed to access women’s sports or women-only spaces like changing rooms.
