Transgender Eligibility

Champion Women’s Work Preserving Women’s Sports for Women

Nancy Hogshead has been a prominent voice in the debate over transgender eligibility in sports. She advocates for policies that balance inclusion with fairness, particularly for female athletes. Hogshead-Makar believes that transgender women should be allowed to compete in women's sports, provided they can demonstrate that they have mitigated the advantages of male puberty.

She has expressed concerns about the fairness of competition when transgender women, who have undergone male puberty, compete against cisgender women. Her stance is that while inclusion is important, it should not come at the expense of fair competition for biological women. Hogshead has been involved in discussions and panels, such as her appearance on the Dr. Phil show, to address these complex issues and advocate for balanced solution.
